Oh Windows, you dick!

Started the implementation of the DCiJ project today. Had lots of fun trying to configure the Tomcat server. It really seems to hate me.
Then it suddenly did not want to launch anymore, because an instance of it was still running. I tried to kill it and Windows froze. Reboot. Bluescreen. Reboot. Bluescreen. Repair from the [...]

I’m in love with a text file, shoot me!

Since I have started using Quicksilver I’ve also fallen in love with Applescript.
I’ve been using PathFinder for a while now, having it set as my default file manager. It was just problematic that some programs would call the Finder and then there was no way to get rid of it.
Now I have a nice little [...]

Hey, I don’t hate you. Yet.

Okay, I’m giving Quicksilver another chance. Must be the fourth or fifth try.
I must admit, I’m not exactly the most patient user. If I don’t benefit from a program immediately, it can’t be any good. At all. And so far Quicksilver never jumped at me and said “Hey, this is why you should be using [...]

Excess

Never bring money into the Apple Store! Never!
Finally I can begin my long awaited “move all my media to the new HDD, format the old HDD, move the media back, do a complete backup of everything”-operation. That is okay.
But you can’t just go in there and buy 120 gigs of space, no. Now I also [...]

Back among the digital

Finally, I got my MacBook back. Apparently they tried to call me a couple of times. Well, I didn’t get any calls and there was no display of missed calls, but who cares.
I’ve got a lot to catch up with.

Sitting with the Power Macs

Somehow I think there’s an aura of disgust-inducing Digustinducium surrounding the Power Macs in the room I spend most of my MBP-free days in. Every couple of minutes people rush in. They look around with a hint of angst in their eyes. They see the logo and suddenly someone exclaims with a mixture of “look [...]

Helplessnessyness

So, now I’m sitting here with lots of stuff to do and virtually no way to do it.
Sure, I could download the zipped backups from my iDisk, but then I’d have to repeat work I have already completed but just not backed up. And I still have high hopes that I’ll get my MacBook Pro [...]

Fracked…again

It’s as if Steve wanted to teach me a lesson. “Never EVER buy a new Apple Product on day one” Now I don’t know why he would want to do that, but I certainly learned my lesson.
Why? Because!
My MBP is in for repair. Again. This time I think I fried the RAM. Now I’m waiting [...]
